This is an article on how to change the background of an image using one of the Paint programs on a Windows computer. Although the regular MS Paint program does not allow users to create transparent images, you are still allowed to create a green background by painting a solid color that can be replaced with a custom image. You can also use Paint 3D to cut out the required portion of the image and paste it into the background.

Once you’ve finished coloring, you can click and drag your mouse over the part to be deleted to circle it with a big green box.

Use another program to change the green background. Unfortunately, the MS Paint program cannot replace the green background with another image; you will have to use an advanced photo editing program (such as Photoshop) or a video editing program to do this.

  • Since the entire background is the same color, after making the edit to the green background you will have the original subject on the optional background.
