Where to Catch Ditto in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
There are a number of new Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. Alongside these new Pokemon are a number of returning monsters that are popular in the series. One of the most popular Pokemon to use for breeding is the shape-shifting pink goo called Ditto. Ditto can be caught in both games and is very useful to have in your party. Where to Find Ditto?
Ditto can be found in different locations in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. Basically you want to look around any of the towns and cities in the West Province (Area Two), West Province (Area Three), and the Glaeado Mountain regions according to its Pokedex Habit tracker.
One thing to keep in mind while you are searching is that Ditto disguises itself as other Pokemon. This means it won’t be visible when you are running around. To find one go somewhere when the Ditto icon appears on your map. Fight the Pokemon in that area or run around targetting with ZL until you eventually stumble onto one. Be ready to catch it when you do.
If you don’t know where to start looking I can point you to where I found my Ditto. Head to the city called Porto Marinad. On the north cliffside above the city there is a lighthouse. Around this lighthouse Ditto will spawn. Fight the Pokemon there until you encounter one or walk around targetting each Pokemon with ZL until a Ditto title appears on your screen. This is the exact approach that I used to snag my Ditto.
Additionally you may encounter an Ditto in a raid. This is largely up to chance since the Pokemon in raid battles are random. With that said there is a chance Pokemon does a special raid event specifically catered to Ditto in the future.
Once you have a Ditto caught you are ready to begin getting into the breeding game. Ditto is the prime candidate to mate with other Pokemon. This allows you to generate eggs from rather rare Pokemon you encounter. Breeding something like an Eevee ensures you are able to have enough Eevees to make all of the evolutions.
