The rotating magnetic field of a 3-phase AC motor is created by passing a three-phase current into three electromagnets that are spaced apart on a circle. When the motor is connected to a three-phase network, the stator will create a rotating magnetic field that causes the rotor to rotate on the shaft. Next, the shaft transmits the rotation of the rotor outward to operate tools or other moving mechanisms.
