What are threads?

Thread is a wireless networking protocol based on IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6), designed for low-power Internet of Things devices in IEEE 802.15.4-2006 wireless networks.

This protocol is often referred to as a wireless personal area network (WPAN). Thread is independent of other 802.15 mesh network protocols, such as ZigBee, Z-Wave, and Bluetooth LE.

This is a convenient, stable wireless connection that allows devices in the family to be compatible with each other, to maintain and communicate but not to depend on intermediate devices to enhance the experience and avoid interrupted cases.
