A heartbroken family is sharing their grief over the loss of their 12-year-old son to suicide to raise awareness about bullying.
Drayke Hardman’s devastated parents Andy and Samie shared pictures of their son’s final moments on social media revealing he ended his life after a year of bullying at school.
“This…. This is the result of bullying, my handsome boy was fighting a battle that not even I could save him,” she wrote in the tribute.
“It is real, it is silent and there is nothing absolutely nothing as a parent you can do to take this deep hurt away.”

The Utah mum shared her pain in a caption on Instagram alongside a series of series of devastating pictures of the family surrounding Drayke in hospital
“There are no signs, only hurtful words of others that ultimately stole OUR Drayke from this cruel place,” she said.
“He was 12…. 12 years old. How does a 12-year-old who was so knowingly, fiercely loved by everyone think that life is so hard he needs to take himself from it.”

She went on to say her boy “knew love, every single day of his life” from his parents and sisters.
“To know Drayke was to love him… his witty personality and those baby blue eyes won over the world,” she said.
“I’m not sure how to navigate this life without you. I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with you, and instead you spent the rest of yours with me.”
Samie finished the post saying her son was now a forever protector of his sisters, and his mother’s “saving grace”.
“My heart is shattered, I don’t know how to fix it… but I will spend every minute teaching kindness in the memory of my favorite dude,” she said.
The grieving mum shared a hashtag, #DoitforDrayke to encourage a pay it forward campaign and teach children acts of kindness.

Drayke’s parents tried to help him
Samie and Andrew revealed they tried to protect Drayke from bullying, by raising the issue with the school which saw the classmate who targeted their son suspended.
They even sat Drayke down and asked him how he was feeling and if he was having suicidal thoughts, and the 12-year-old said ‘no’.
“It was almost like he was disgusted that I would have even asked him,” she told KUTV.
Last Wednesday the young boy asked his parents to miss basketball practice, and later that night he tragically died by suicide.
His sisters found him in his bedroom before he was rushed to hospital, where he died on Thursday morning.
A fundraising page set up for Drayke and his family has raised more than $USD 94,000 (AUD $131,000).
