Purple line
Okay this is so weird and something I have NEVER heard of… just curious if you ladies have. Apparently there is something called a purple line (in your butt crack 🤭) that is used to tell cervical dilation?! Let me just say how I came across this information lol! I have been having a lot of butt pain/pressure since yesterday, which is why I looked in the first place. When I did, I noticed this dark purple line going up my buttcrack. When I googled pain and purple line in butt (😂) I found all this stuff on baby and pregnancy websites about how a lot of midwives actually use that line to tell how dilated a woman is, rather than cervical checks which are more invasive. Anyway I’m not having any contractions and my water hasn’t broke or anything so I’m not gonna go in over this purple line haha! (Even though I never felt contractions through the whole labor with my first, just had back pain.. so it does make me a little nervous) But I just thought it was crazy and was wondering if this is common knowledge and just something I haven’t heard of. Included just a couple of the screenshots I found
I’ve heard of it because I have a friend who used it instead of cervical checks. She said it worked for her!
I have one but it goes all the way up to where it says you’re fully dilated and I’m only 1cm dilated, so not true for me.
I have heard of this, no idea how accurate it is
Hmm, okay. I wonder if it ever goes away? Like maybe i still have one from when I had my daughter. Who knows
Just recently heard of this too! Don’t know how accurate 🤷🏼♀️
my sister told me about it.
Interesting. I just checked and mine goes all the way up, lol. I haven’t been checked by my midwife, so no idea how dilated I really am, but I have been feeling like baby might come any day now 😊
same! I’m 38 weeks and my OB doesn’t check until 39 but it’s all the way up my butt crack. So now I’m curious!
this is interesting….how many of us are in the mirror spreading our cheeks right now🤣🤣🤣
I checked, I have one. hahaha
lol. my thought exactly.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
lol exactly my thoughts! I’m about to ask my bf to check
Lol I just checked and mine is all the way up as well. Last time I was checked was last Sunday @ 38 weeks and I was a 2cm. So I wonder how dilated I am now 🤔
Lmao. I was thinking the same.. pregnant women all over the world looking at their booty cracks right now 😂 I was seriously thinking I’m probably dilated and need to go in last night but I knew I wouldn’t be able to bring myself to tell them it’s because there’s a purple line in my butt. When I told my husband of course he was like ok why were you even looking that far in there to be able to see that. Lol! But it’s super dark purple and really noticeable. Really wondering if there’s any truth to this though. I’m still not exactly sure how to measure dilation using it though, because something I saw said you have to compare it to the full length of the woman’s butt crack or something like that
