Ive have a plant for 8 years and has only bloomed once…. (When I bought it)
It receives bright light all day and not near any drafts. I dont mist it but have started using fertilizer just in the past 6 months. It still has not bloomed and it’s very small. No brown spots and I have repotted it several times…. Any suggestions on why it’s not growing bigger or producing flowers?
I keep my peace lily where it receives indirect but bright sunlight, I keep moistening it on the alternate days. The soil is moist enough. Still I find leaves are droopy, yellowish and often withered.
Based on the article, it seems you may be over watering it. I have a large plant that get indirect bright sunlight. I water it once a week and fertilize it once a year. Normally, it blooms three to four times a year with two flowers each bloom. I hope this helps.
I have a very large leafed peace lily, it’s facing north at the edge of a covered lanai, not in direct sunlight, it’s outside (live in FL’s zone 10). The lower leaf edges are browning and the new growth leaves are distorting. What is wrong? Thank you for your help. MM
When a peace lily wilts, it usually means that it’s thirsty. They can be quite the drama queens, but on the bright side, they will always tell you when they need water!
I have a fairly large peace lily. When it’s time to bring in all of my houseplants in the fall, I severely trim my peace lily (to save space) to about 6 inches. It still grows throughout the winter, doesn’t look very appealing, but as soon as I put it back outside in the spring, it grows beautifully.
My peace lily is standing in the bedroom and in winter gets morning sun. She needs watering about twice a week and leaves are very healthy. I fertilise with pot plant liquid fertiliser once a quarter yet no flowers. Lots of light but to no avail.
Can I put my peace lily outside for the summer? It would be on a northside porch with a roof. If any sun it is late afternoon only.
IT can be outside if no direct sunlight. When I have had my Peace Lily exposed to direct sunlight for even 2 hours a day …. the leaves begin to “burn”. Remove from direct sunlight and it recovers speedily.
