NBA players’ height has been an important topic for many years now. There have been players who tower over others on the court. At the same time, there have been players who have done well in the NBA even though they lacked in height. Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant fits right into the first category. We all know that he is one of the tallest players in the NBA right now.
In the height conversation, Orlando Magic‘s Bol Bol is surely involved. The center is the son of Manute Bol, who was the joint-tallest player in NBA history with Georghe Muresan at 7 feet 7 in tall. The Magic star is one of the tallest players to set foot on an NBA court ever. This brings us to one question; how does KD fare against Bol Bol in height, wingspan, weight, and vertical jump?
Durant stands at 6 feet 11 in tall barefoot. In direct comparison with Bol, who stands at 7 feet 2 in, KD falls short only by a bit. As for wingspan, Durant falls behind in this as well. Bol boasts a huge wingspan of 7 feet 8 in, whereas Kevin Durant only has a 7 feet 5 in wingspan.
When it comes to vertical jump and weight, it looks like Durant might have the edge. Details of Bol’s vertical jump are not available but in a video where he was jumping to the touch the board, it looked like he might have a leap of 30 inches. Durant boasts a vertical leap of 35 inches which is interestingly lower than shorter players. As for weight, Durant (240) weighs about 20 lbs more than Bol Bol (220).
Where is Bol Bol from?
As mentioned earlier, Bol is the son of former NBA player Manute Bol, who passed away in 2010. He played for several teams, such as the Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards, Miami Heat, and the Philadelphia 76ers. The Heat drafted his son at #44 at the 2019 NBA Draft, but traded him to the Denver Nuggets on the same day.
Bol Bol hails from Khartoum, Sudan. However, the interesting fact is that he grew up in Kansas, USA, for most of his childhood. This shouldn’t be surprising because of the fact that his dad was an NBA player who moved around quite a bit back in the day.
Kevin Durant has always been one to be open about his opinions. He has always recognized the talents of young players, who have the potential to become world-class. This has been the case with Bol as well. The Nets guard shared his opinion on Bol’s talent and abilities during a press conference.

Durant said, “He’s unique. He’s tough to deal with. You can see his confidence growing by the game, you know, he can do pretty much everything on a basketball court. Just need more reps, last few years he’s been in and out of the lineup, hurt, and G League stints. I love what Jamal is doing with him over there, putting him at the point sometimes, putting him at the five, and just moving him around because he’s such a versatile player.”
KD believes that Bol will just need a little more time to more damage in the league. As he mentioned, the young Magic center has had his fair share of trouble with injuries. This has understandably affected his momentum on the court as well. However, KD, a tall player with exceptional technique and versatility, believes Bol Bol will be the same very soon.
