Start scanning for channels. You will have to gather information from the access point for several hours before you can attempt to crack the password. Type airodump-ng -c channel# --bssid MAC address -w output ath0 and press Enter. Airodump will start scanning. You can leave the device somewhere for a while while it scans for information. Make sure the device is plugged in if the battery is low.
