{“smallUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images_en/thumb/5/5c/Ask-a-Girl-to-the-Movies-by-Text-Step-1.jpg/v4-728px- Ask-a-Girl-to-the-Movies-by-Text-Step-1.jpg”,”bigUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images/thumb/5/5c/Ask-a- Girl-to-the-Movies-by-Text-Step-1.jpg/v4-728px-Ask-a-Girl-to-the-Movies-by-Text-Step-1.jpg”,”smallWidth”:460 ,”smallHeight”:345,”bigWidth”:728,”bigHeight”:546,”licensing”:”<div class=”mw-parser-output”></div>”}
Start the conversation with a question. Instead of simply saying “Hi,” you should start with a question. Ask her how she was today or last week. This question will help open the conversation and be easy for her to answer as well.

  • Send her a message like “Lan, how are you today?”
  • Avoid opening the conversation with “Hey” and saying nothing else. She won’t know how to respond to that message. [1] X Research Source

Show a sense of humour. If the two of you know each other pretty well or aren’t very interested in a simple question, then you should start with a meme, GIF, or joke. Naughty texting is a fun way to start a conversation, and the friendly atmosphere will help you feel more comfortable asking her out.

  • Mention a funny story, like something funny that happened in class the other day.
  • Send a funny photo of the cat with the title “Does the cat look cute?”

Flirt to see her reaction. Send her a compliment or a funny question to start the conversation. It shows that you’re interested in her from the start, and you can tell from her response whether or not she’ll agree to hang out when invited. [2] X Research Source

  • Text like “I didn’t see you going to school today! How can you pass chemistry alone?”
  • Compliment her subtly but honestly. If you’re new to each other, you can text, “It was so much fun seeing you at the party last week. I’m really funny!”
  • If you’re closer to her, text her “I like the sweater you wore today”.

Invite her out on a date

{“smallUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images_en/thumb/b/b4/Ask-a-Girl-to-the-Movies-by-Text-Step-4.jpg/v4-728px- Ask-a-Girl-to-the-Movies-by-Text-Step-4.jpg”,”bigUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images/thumb/b/b4/Ask-a- Girl-to-the-Movies-by-Text-Step-4.jpg/v4-728px-Ask-a-Girl-to-the-Movies-by-Text-Step-4.jpg”,”smallWidth”:460 ,”smallHeight”:345,”bigWidth”:728,”bigHeight”:546,”licensing”:”<div class=”mw-parser-output”></div>”}
Invite directly and choose a specific date. Avoid saying things that are not serious or lack the subject so that she understands that you are dating, and remember to state the date clearly. If you have to choose another date then this shows that you really want to date her!

  • Text something like “Do you want to go to the movies with me on Saturday night?”
  • Or you can choose a humorous way of saying something like, “I want to see Final Destination Friday night and I’m afraid to watch it alone. Can I go with you?”

Be more specific about the plan if she agrees. You have succeeded! Now that she’s agreed, choose a movie theater and time that works for both of you. Once you’ve chosen a time and place, make a reservation so the two of you can sit next to each other.

  • If you want, you can invite her to dinner before the movie. This way, the two of you can talk more and get to know each other better before you start.

Don’t be disappointed if she refuses. Rejection is part of dating, and everyone has to deal with it at some point. Come to terms with your feelings (you’re bound to get a little hurt!), and see it as an opportunity for you to meet the right person. End the conversation briefly and politely, and respect her wishes. [3] X Trusted Source HelpGuide Go to source

Choose a movie she wants to see. Text her to ask what kind of movies she likes to watch. If she says whatever movie you want or doesn’t suggest it, suggest some options. Choose from a variety of movie genres such as horror, comedy, and action movies.

  • Choosing a movie that you both enjoy will increase your chances of a successful date.

Buy snacks when you go to the cinema. To make the movie more fun, you should buy more food and water. Buy popcorn, soft drinks and candy. If you’re not familiar with shopping at the movie theater or it’s expensive, consider going to a convenience store to buy snacks and bring them into the theater. This can make the dating experience more casual and fun.

  • Be careful when sneaking food into the cinema. Most cinemas forbid this.

Show affection to your girlfriend while watching a movie. If both of you are comfortable, try holding her hand, putting your arm around her shoulder, or kissing her on the cheek. To see if she accepts or not, you should act slowly. Lean over to her and whisper in her ear while watching a movie. If she smiles and leans over to listen, that’s a good sign that she’s accepting the intimacy.

  • Only do things that both of you are comfortable with. If she doesn’t want to talk or sit close while watching a movie, she’s probably embarrassed or too focused on the movie.

After watching the movie

Let her know you’re happy to have her go to the movies. Don’t worry about texting too soon. Text her when you get home or wait until the next day to tell her you’re happy. [4] X Research Sources

  • Send a short message like “You got home safe! I had a lot of fun tonight” or “Last night was fun! Thank you for a great Saturday.”
  • Send a message to start a conversation. While you’d love to send lots of texts to tell her how amazing she is, don’t text too much and too soon.

Talk to her about the movie and ask her what she thinks. Keep the conversation going by mentioning interesting scenes from the movie. If the movie has a lot of suspense, jokingly say that you almost have a heart attack!

    Ask her out if things are going well. Don’t be shy if the two of you had a good time together. She must have been happy too. Let her know you enjoy being with her and suggest another date. [5] X Research Sources

    • Suggest fun activities other than watching movies so you both learn new things about each other. You can go to lunch at a newly opened restaurant or go for a walk in the park.
