Steps
Set up the scanner
- Check power supply including wall outlet and surge resistant long outlet.
- Troubleshoot loose cables.
- Check that the USB cable is plugged into the correct port.
- Make sure you have the correct cable.
- Review the installation manual of the printer or scanner owner.
- Call the operator or access the online help feature.
- With Windows computers, the basic built-in utility is Windows Fax and Scan and can be found in the Start menu search bar.
Scan photos
- The higher the resolution, the clearer the details in the image. To make the image clearer, you can increase the resolution. Note: this will also increase the image size and file size significantly. You won’t be able to send photos as email attachments without first reducing the image size. Resolutions above 300 dpi are not required.
