Once you know what type of graphics card you have, it will be easier to find the rotation controller.

  • Press ⊞ Win + R and type dxdiag . The DirectX Diagnostic Top tool will open.
  • Click the Display tab. If you already have an NVIDIA card installed, see the next step. If you are using an AMD/ATI card, see step 5.

Update the driver if you cannot rotate the screen. The most common reason why the screen won’t rotate is a corrupted or outdated driver. Updating to the latest driver will usually restore this option, even making it run smoother.

  • Visit the NVIDIA or AMD homepage (depending on your graphics card manufacturer). If you are unsure, use DirectX Diagnostic Top (see step 3).
  • Run the autodetect tool to let the website scan and identify your computer’s graphics card. You can also use data from DirectX Diagnostic Top to look up your video card type.
  • Download and install the latest driver. The installer will automatically remove the old driver and reinstall the latest one. Most users often leave the default settings of the installer.
  • Try rotating the screen again. After installing the latest driver, you can apply one of the above ways to rotate the screen.
