Grasp the working principle of the game Minesweeper. Each Minesweeper game starts with an empty square board. Review the numbers. Any number in the table refers to the number of mines currently near the square containing that number.

Right click on any square you think has mines. A flag will appear in that square. To aid in the later removal process, it is best to start with squares that are certain to contain mines (for example, only one square next to the number “1” in the board).

  • Make sure you do not check the box where there are more mines than in the table.

Double-click the cells that you are not sure about. Doing so will cause a question mark to appear in the square, which means you want to leave the box alone until other squares are excluded.

  • This is a safe strategy for boards where you’ve found almost all of them with only two or three mines left.
