This feature allows you to switch from the character you are controlling to another character in real time. Since GTA V has 3 main characters (Franklin, Trevor and Michael), this feature makes a lot of sense. This will definitely make you feel new when performing the task, especially the tasks that require the coordination of all 3 characters.

  • On a handheld console, press and hold the downward-pointing arrow button to bring up the character switching menu. Use the left joystick to select the character.
  • On a personal computer, press and hold the left “Alt” key to bring up the character selection screen. Use mouse to select character.

Learn about the character. All 3 main characters in GTA V have distinct personalities. Not only that, these characters also have different abilities that you can use in different situations. Press both joysticks at the same time, or the CAPS key on your PC to activate your character’s special ability.

  • Michael is good at shooting. The special ability of this character is to activate the “bullet time” effect that makes everything around slow down but the rate of fire remains the same.
  • Franklin was the surest driver. This character’s special ability is a bit similar to Michael’s, except that this is driving a car. That makes this character the best driver in the game.
  • Trevor is the team’s pilot. This character can fly an airplane extremely easily. Trevor’s special ability is to go into a “crazy” state. While in that state, this character will deal more damage up close and take less damage from enemies.

  • You can change clothes in the changing area of the character’s shelter. The shelter house has an icon that looks like the house on the map.
  • You can also customize all the vehicles you own such as cars and motorcycles just like when you customize your character.

Learn about the route on the map. Los Santos is a big place. This place is bigger than GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption combined! Accordingly, getting to know the map is very important when trying to survive in the game.

  • To open the map, press “Options” (on Playstation), menu button (on Xbox), or “P” (on PC) to pause the game and display the map. Click (on PC), press “X” (on Playstation) or “A” to make an arbitrary mark on the map.
  • Notice the icon on the map. You can see many icons on the map. These are quest icons, special events, shops, and even other characters’ locations while playing. Pay attention to these icons to know which direction you need to go to get to a certain place.
  • You can also pin anywhere on the map and the game will show the shortest path from your location to the pinned location. This is a really useful feature.

Drive safe. GTA V now increases the penalty for someone who hits a pedestrian or destroys anything while driving. That means that it only takes a little mistake – like hitting a passerby – to get the police to immediately notice you! You will quickly get a wanted level of one star, so you need to be careful.

  • You should also be careful even if you’re not driving. If a passerby catches sight of you doing something shady – they will call the police immediately. You also get the same consequences when you do something stupid in front of the police station.

Taking mission

Learn from the first mission. The first two missions are the ones that help you know how to play. The first mission is performed by Michael and Trevor, and the second is taken up by Franklin. After completing the mission, you are free to roam Los Santos and take on missions according to your ability.

Go on a quest on the map. Quests are marked with the letter of the assigned task on the map. Open the map and select the letter to know the direction on the minimap when starting the mission. Walk or drive over the yellow circle on the ground to start the mission. You must be controlling a certain character to start the quest. Michael’s mission is the blue letter, Franklin’s is the green letter, and Trevor’s is the orange letter.

Use mobile phones. The cell phone feature is back. This feature plays an important role in the gameplay because it helps you communicate with all the characters, including those who sometimes give you missions. Mobile phones also give you access to the Internet to further expand what you can do in GTA V.

Reasonable expenses. The more quests you take, the more money you will earn. You should learn to spend wisely if you want to complete the task with a higher success rate.

  • Most of the missions are dangerous, requiring the ability to shoot guns and car chases. Therefore, you need to upgrade your weapon from time to time. You can buy weapons and other combat gear at Ammu-Nation.
  • You also need to upgrade the vehicles, or at least upgrade the vehicles that you often use to escape. It’s impossible to know how many police chases you’ll face in GTA V, so it’s best to upgrade your regular vehicle.

Know when to switch characters. Since you have 3 characters, the task will be equally assigned to these 3 characters. There will be times when you run out of event quests. If this happens then it’s time to switch to another character. That way, you’ll never run out of things to do.

Perform side quests. To discover everything in GTA V, you should get all the available quests before taking on the main story quest. These side quests not only help increase the character’s stats, but also help you learn many stories and deep personalities of the character. If you’re going to 100% complete the game here’s how.

Complete the story mode

Complete the main quest. Once you’ve taken on the errands and completed the side quests – Now you’re ready to finish the game. You can do this by only taking on the main story quest when you are sure that there are no other quests assigned to the 3 characters.

Take advantage of what you’ve learned. As you work through the last few story missions, you’ll notice that the quests get harder and harder. This is when you have to use up all the experience gained during the game.

It’s not an exaggeration, but after completing the final mission – you will surely have to admit that GTA V is one of the best video games.
