This is an article on how to add contacts to your email account by opening the VCF file. VCF files, also known as “vCard” files, store contact information that can be read and imported on email services like Gmail, iCloud, and Yahoo, as well as Outlook on a computer. However, you can only use VCF files on your computer.

Open the Google Contacts page. Visit https://contacts.google.com/ using your computer’s browser. This is how to open Gmail contacts if you are signed in to your Google account.

  • If you’re not signed in, you’ll need to enter your Gmail address and password when prompted to continue.
  • If the Google contacts page does not display the correct information, you will click the profile icon in the upper right corner of the page, then select the account to use from the menu that appears. If you don’t see your account, click Add account and enter your email address and password to sign in.

  • Note, Outlook web version does not support VCF files.
  • To import a vCard file on Mac, you would click on the file, click File , choose Open With , and select Microsoft Outlook . You can click Save & Close when asked.
