Steps
Using the Start menu
in the lower left corner of the desktop or press the ⊞ Win key on your keyboard.
- You can also click the search or Cortana button next to the Start icon.
- Or you can manually find Command Prompt in the Start menu.
- The Command Prompt is located in the Windows System folder for Windows 8 & 10, or the Accessories folder under All Programs on Windows 7, Vista & XP.
Command Prompt appears in the menu. A new Command Prompt command line window will open.
Use the right-click menu
