Door locks keep us safe and secure about our possessions, but they can also make us uncomfortable when they don’t work properly, or if you accidentally leave your keys somewhere. Remember, before you start messing around with the unlocking kit and breaking the door, you have to make sure you have no other choice. Most workarounds take time to learn, remember this.
Steps
Use a Homemade Key to Smash the Lock
- This method of breaking a lock takes a bit of practice, especially in the case of a cheap lock because it can even break a lock, so don’t do it without a good reason. .
- Most reputable locksmiths won’t make a hammer key for you, but you can probably buy them online. To make one yourself, you’ll need some metalworking tools and a little patience.
- It may take a few tries to get the lock to turn at the right time, so stick with it until you succeed.
Use an Unlocker
- Wind steel is the best material for this because it is hard to break and can be easily made by filing. You can get wind steel from wood saw blades. Pay attention to the thickness of the saw blade because it will determine the size of the unlocking rod that can be inserted into the lock.
- The lever is made in an L-shape, and is used to apply force to the bottom of the lock. You can make this tool by thinly filing an L-shaped rod with a hexagonal body.
- The unlocking rod is made with shorter pins, like the letter “r”. It is used to pull the latch from the doorknob so that the doorknob can be rotated.
- If you’re not sure which direction to turn the transmission lever, insert it into the lock and try turning it in one direction. Put your ear in to listen and then pull out the push rod quickly. If you turn it in the right direction, you will hear the pin drop.
Use Hex Wrench to Open Doors in Houses
Using ATM Card
- Hard pressed plastic cards seem to work best. You can use a flexible card (like a supermarket gift card) – so you won’t have to worry about it getting damaged. Because sometimes you can scratch your ATM card to the point where it becomes unusable.
- Turn the card tail down behind the door latch. You need to make sure the card is perpendicular to the door.
- Obviously, this trick won’t work if the locking pin is a fixed latch. This type of dowel has no chamfer on the side. But luckily you cannot lock this type of latch from the outside without a key.
Open Car Door
- If your car door has a power button to open the door, you can also slide the bottom of the coat hanger from the top of the door, and use it like a finger to push the button inside.
Use Power to Break the Door
- Stand on a firm surface. Face the door and spread your feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent. If possible, prop your hand or arm against a wall, furniture, or anything that won’t move when you push in the door.
- Raise your dominant leg to thigh level. Lift the leg from the knee up. Keep your feet facing the door. Don’t turn the other way or make any extra moves.
- Kick the lock on the door with your heel. This type of rock is sometimes referred to as a “bounce stone”. Turn your legs straight forward, so your feet kick the locking mechanism in the door.
- Kicking the door is pretty safe. Our feet are designed to be able to absorb a large amount of impulse, and shoes and sandals will act as support cushions. DO NOT hit the door with your shoulder, you are more likely to dislocate than to open the door.
- Continue kicking until the lock pops out of the door frame. Just kick long enough, this works on almost any type of wooden door.
- If you don’t see results after a few minutes, the door or frame may be reinforced. Take a break and keep going, so your kicks won’t weaken.
- Purchase a manual piling tool. It is usually about a little over half a meter long, with handles attached at each end.
- Fill the cement mixture inside the pile driver. Make sure the cement is completely dry before using it.
- Use the toss motion to nudge the tip of the piling tool into the locking mechanism on the door. Bring it back with both hands, and you stand parallel to the door. Then take the momentum and bang on the door. Most doors will pop open after a few hits.
- Remember that the door has the potential to be completely damaged and need to be replaced later.
Advice
- Call a professional if possible. No one can replace a locksmith (or a homeowner with a spare key) when you’re stuck outside. The best and safest way to open a locked door is always to pick up the phone and call someone professionally trained to open it.
- Always start with the least damaging measure possible. If you can open a door with an ATM card, there’s no need to break the lock or use a wooden stick to break your door.
- Practice. If you want to be able to break the lock by smashing, or with the transfer lever and push rod, you need a lot of practice to develop the skill. There is no better teacher than experience.
Warning
- Don’t try to break the door with your shoulder. It only works on movies.
- Don’t try to shoot in the lock. It can result in bullets bouncing and hurting you more than breaking the lock. You also may not be able to fix the jammed lock to its normal position anymore due to the effect of the dent you shot.
- Breaking into anything that is not yours is trespassing and illegal. Don’t do that.
- In some places, it’s also illegal to carry a locksmith without certification that you’re a locksmith. Depending on the feelings of the officer who arrested you, even carrying homemade tools could be illegal. Don’t use those tools unless you really need to.
- If you lose the key to a rental property, call security, the manager or the landlord before attempting to break the lock. Maybe one of them will have the key to open the door for you, remember: breaking into a rental can be illegal, especially if you cause property damage.
