If you’re running a business on Facebook, chances are that your customers and fans have inadvertently created Facebook pages that attract views that are intended for your main page. This usually happens when you have a specific address and Facebook users mistype that address when posting (check in). If you combine those pages, you can get all your fans and customers to mention the same page for easy messaging and marketing control.

Prepare the Necessary Things

Make sure the pages have met the pooling criteria. Facebook only includes pages when they meet the following conditions:

  • You must have Manager permission on all pages to be merged.
  • The pages must have similar content. As such, you cannot combine a page about NGOs and a page about recordings.
  • Pages must have similar names. Example: You can combine “Interesting Pages” and “Interesting Pages 2” but cannot combine “Interesting Pages” with “Completely Different Pages”. If the page names are not the same, you need to change the name of the page so that it is nearly the same. Go to the page, click Edit, and then click Update Page Info. Next, type a new name in the Name field. You can only change the name if the page has less than 200 likes.
  • If possible, the pages should have the same address.

Confirm that the pages you intend to include belong to you. If you intend to include your user-generated web pages, you must confirm that the page belongs to your company. You must prove that you are indeed the representative of the company.

  • To confirm that a page belongs to you, go to the page and press the (“…”) button at the top of the page. Select “Is this your business?” (Is this your business?) and fill out the form. You may be asked to provide proof that you are in business. After completing the validation process, you can merge the page with your main business page.

Think carefully about which pages to keep. When merging pages, the page with the most likes will be saved and the others will be merged into it. User-generated pages will be permanently deleted, leaving only the page with the most likes with lots of followers (flowers), reviews and check-ins.

Save the necessary content on the old pages. Any photos or posts on the old site will be deleted forever. So make sure you’ve uploaded the images to the main page and copied the important articles.

Click Merge duplicate Pages. This button is located at the bottom of the menu. If you don’t see this button, Facebook doesn’t detect pages that are eligible for inclusion. In this case, you need to double check that the pages you want to include are qualified.
