Choose a quiet, distraction-free place. Turn on a dim light in the bedroom or living room and remove electronic devices, such as phones, televisions, and laptops. [1] X Research Source Keep room at a comfortable temperature. If the room is too hot or too cold, it will be distracting.

  • You’ll also want to put some pillows on the floor to cushion your sitting meditation. Arrange pillows so that you and your partner can sit close together but still have a comfortable space.

Comfortable. Prepare a position that is comfortable for both you and your partner. You can lie down or meditate in the lotus position. You and your partner can meditate in comfortable clothes or nothing at all if you like.

  • Keep your spine straight, whether lying down or sitting, with your arms at your sides. Rest your arms loosely on your thighs if meditating in a sitting position. [2] X Research Source
  • Lift your chin up and keep your head in line with your spine when sitting. [3] X Research Sources

Close eyes. When you’re ready, you and your partner can close your eyes and start meditating. Then, first try to be aware of your surroundings. Focus on your body, your breath, and any sounds you hear. [4] X Research Sources

  • Try to ignore the thoughts that are invading your mind and focus on reality. If a thought pops into your head, acknowledge the thought and ignore it. For example, if you think about what happened at work, think to yourself, “yeah, that happened,” and let that thought go away.

Focus on space and breath. When meditating, you should focus on space and breath. Take deep, gentle breaths and pay attention to the air coming in and out of your body. When you take a little in, let the air fill your belly and when you exhale, imagine all the tension has followed the breath out of the body. [5] X Research Sources

  • Try to be self-aware and feel at the moment. Pay attention to how your body feels about the air around you, or how each part of your body feels from your hands to your feet. [6] X Research Source

Visualize the body. As you begin to meditate, visualize your body. Think about your body inside and out and what its energy looks like. Think about the shapes, colors, and sounds of your current emotions. For example, you can picture your longing for your lover as a red sphere. [7] X Research Sources

  • Focus on physical vibes . Do your best to be aware of your body and your physical vibrations. The goal of orgasmic meditation is to increase awareness, which will increase sexual arousal. [8] X Research Sources

Focus on your partner. Once you’ve completed the self-image, turn your focus to your lover. Try to think about their bodies and emotions in that moment.

  • Look at your lover . You can open your eyes and look into your lover’s eyes. Make sure you are aware of their breath as well. You should also pay attention to the person’s body movements. [9] X Research Source For example, you can watch your lover’s belly and chest rise and fall with each breath.
  • Communicate with your lover without words . Try to use your face, hands, and eyes to show your partner how you feel, and monitor his or her expression. You should also try to understand what the other person is feeling. [10] X Research Source

Turn on soothing music or nature sounds. It can be hard to concentrate with outside noises, so play music or nature sounds to help you and your partner relax. Try playing the sound of rain, waves, or new age music.

  • Make sure to choose music that is long enough to play during meditation and intercourse.

Try Taoist orgasmic meditation. Once you’ve tried the basic orgasmic meditation, try more complex transformations. Taoist orgasmic meditation is a form of meditation that focuses on the desired harmony between you and your lover.

  • Synchronized breathing . It is a method of breathing matching so that you and your lover can inhale and exhale at the same time. Continue like this until the two people’s breathing becomes one.
  • Catch the circuit . Taking the pulse is another form of Taoist orgasmic meditation. Gently open and close your lover’s hand or squeeze their hand in a gentle, soothing rhythm. He or she may also squeeze your hand.

    • Look into each other’s eyes . Maintain eye contact with your partner during intercourse and during orgasm.
    • Alternate breathing . Try to alternate breathing with the person. For example, you can inhale when your partner exhales and vice versa. [11] X Research Source
  • Advice

    • Before trying orgasm meditation, discuss with your partner why you want to try it.
    • You and your partner can meditate individually to get in the habit of clearing your mind and making parallel meditation easier.
