If you want XAMPP modules (e.g. Apache, PHP and MySQL) to automatically launch with Windows, you need to add the XAMPP Contrp Panel to the Startup folder. This wikiHow teaches you how to set up the XAMPP Contrp Panel to start automatically when your computer starts Windows, and how to choose to have the XAMPP module open automatically. You can apply this method on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.

Open the XAMPP Contrp Panel. This control panel is located in the home directory where XAMPP is installed, usually C:xampp. The file itself is named xampp-contrp.exe . If you have never changed the installation directory, follow the steps below to launch the application:

  • Press ⊞ Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type or paste C:xamppxampp-contrp.exe into the data field.
  • Click OK .

Select items to launch at startup. Click the box next to any module in the “Autostart of modules” area to select it. If a module’s cell is already checked, the module will start when you launch the XAMPP Contrp Panel.

Right-click xampp-contrp.exe and select Create Shortcut . The new file will appear right below with the name xampp-contrp.exe – Shortcut .

    Drag the xampp-contrp.exe – Shortcut file and drop it into the Windows Startup folder. After you add this shortcut to the Startup folder, Windows will open XAMPP Contrp every time the PC starts. The module that you have selected to launch automatically will be activated as soon as the XAMPP Contrp Panel starts.
