  • 750g tilapia
  • 1 can of beer
  • 50g ginger
  • 1 horny chili
  • 4 shiitake mushrooms

How to make beer steamed tilapia

Step 1Process materials

Tilapia, after buying, you scale, remove the gills and intestines. Then wash the fish with water.

To get rid of the fishy smell, you should soak the fish in a mixture of rice water and lemon for 5 minutes, rinse with water and drain.

Chilli washed, cut into small pieces.

Peel the ginger and cut it into slices.

Peel the onion and cut it into wedges.

Shiitake mushrooms washed, sliced.

Scallion heads remove roots, wash and smash.

Step 2Fry fish and make sauce

After the fish is drained, you put it in a pan to fry on both sides , with 1 tablespoon of cooking oil.

Then, you take another pan , when the oil is hot, put the ginger in and stir-fry first, then the garlic, onion and chili pepper and stir-fry on medium heat.

When all is fragrant , add 4 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons oyster sauce, 1 teaspoon seasoning powder and ½ teaspoon MSG, 1 teaspoon sugar. Use a spoon to stir until the seasoning is completely dissolved.

You lightly sauté shiitake mushrooms in a pan of hot oil, add 1 teaspoon of seasoning powder.

Step 3Steamed fish

You put the pre-fried fish in the pan and put it on the stove, then pour the sauce on top and add 1 teaspoon of pepper.

Then, you use 1 can of beer and slowly pour it all into the fish pot and cover and cook for 10 minutes.

Next, add the sauteed shiitake mushrooms and onions and let it simmer for about 10 more minutes.
