Break or cut each sausage in half. Place the sausage on the bottom edge of the triangle and roll it up (horizontally) so that the dough wraps around and covers the center of the sausage. If you buy Vienna Sausages or Little Smokies, you will use the whole plant, but with regular sausages, you have to cut them in half.

Remove the cake tray from the oven and let it cool before serving. So you’re done.
  • Advice

    • If the inside of the sausage roll is still wet, place it in the oven and bake for an additional 2 minutes. You don’t want to burn the cake, but toast everything.
    • Processed sausages can also be substituted for regular sausages.
    • If the cake is not yet golden brown, you should bake longer.
    • Alternatively, you can use hot dog sausages, which are just as delicious as Little Smokies and canned Vienna Sausages.
    • Americans also make bread rolls with cookie dough (self-mixed or pre-mixed) instead of using croissant flour.
    • If desired, you can add seasoning to the dough.
    • If the dough falls flat before cooking, spread a thin layer of scrambled eggs over the sausages before rolling to help keep the shape of the dough.
    • Wait for the sausage roll to cool down before serving.
