Open Telegram on your Android device. The app has a blue circle with a white paper plane inside, usually on the home screen or app drawer.

If you don’t have the Telegram app yet, open the Play Store , find Telegram and tap INSTALL .

Click Start Messaging . This blue button is at the bottom of the screen.

If this is your first time using the app on your phone/tablet, tap OK when prompted, then tap ALLOW to give the app permission to receive calls and SMS messages.

Enter your phone number and tap the checkmark. Telegram will send you an SMS to confirm the phone number.

Enter the code in the SMS and tap the checkmark. This code is in the message body of Telegram. So you are logged in Telegram.

If this is your first time setting up Telegram, you’ll need to tap ALLOW when prompted to allow the app to access your phone’s contacts and media.
