Staying logged in to your Facebook account is only appropriate when you have a personal computer, but if you share a computer with others, it’s better to log out as soon as you’re done. If you forget to sign out when using a public or shared computer, you can use Facebook’s security settings to log out remotely. If you need to sign out of the Messenger app, there are a few extra steps you need to take because the app doesn’t include signing out. To terminate your use of Facebook, you may also deactivate your account.

Scroll down and select “Log Out” . This option is at the bottom of the menu.
Select “Log Out” one more time and confirm. So, you have logged out of your Facebook account and returned to the login screen.

Use this method to sign out of your Facebook account on a computer or device that you no longer use. If you forget to sign out of Facebook on a computer at work or school, or on a friend’s phone, you can use Security Settings to log out remotely.

Expand each piece of information to see where you signed in from (for desktop). You’ll see the name of the device (provided to Facebook), location, and previous login. Use this information to find the sign-in you want to end.

End a login to log out remotely. This will terminate the login on a certain device and Facebook will move to the login screen. If someone is viewing your Facebook from that browser or app, they will be kicked out immediately.

Click “End All Activity” to log out all visits (for desktop). If you want to make sure you don’t have any logins left, you should click the “End All Activity” link above the “Where you’re logged in” section. Log out of the Facebook Messenger app
