How to Lock Discord Channels on PC or Mac

This wikiHow teaches you how to block a Discord channel on your PC or Mac. Blocking the channel will prevent others on the server from using the channel in any way.

Open Discord on your PC or Mac. You can proceed on a web browser by logging in to https://discord.com. If you have the desktop app installed, you can find it in the All Apps section of the Windows menu (Windows) or the Applications folder (macOS).

You must be an administrator or have the corresponding permissions to block a channel.

Click on the channel host. The server list is along the left side of Discord.

Click the gear icon next to the channel you want to lock. The gear will only appear when you hover the mouse pointer over the channel name in the list. A menu will appear.

Click @everyone . This option is located below the “Rpes/Members” heading at the top center of the screen. The channel permissions for all users on the server will appear.

Click the X next to all permissions. Each X turns red indicating that members of the server will not have permission to use the channel that way.

Click Save Changes . This green button is at the bottom of the screen. The channel will be locked immediately and no one on the server will be able to access it.
