Read, read, read. One of the easiest ways to learn English fast is to read as much as you can. Read anywhere, anytime. This will help increase your vocabulary as well as help you learn grammar and slang.

  • Read comics. If you don’t want to read children’s books, you can use the easier method of reading comic books instead. You can buy many English comic books at bookstores and online, or read free comic books online (they’re often called webcomics).
  • Read books you’ve already read. You can also read books you’ve read before. If you know the content briefly, you will easily judge and understand the words.
  • Read the paper. Newspapers are an effective way to learn basic languages, as they often use standard grammar and are written in a way that is easy to understand. You can read English-language newspapers online such as the New York Times or The Guardian.

Watch a movie. Watching movies is also a way to help you improve your English through listening and learning new words. You can watch movies with subtitles, but you’ll learn more with subtitles off. After you have a basic vocabulary, you should turn off the subtitles and focus on listening to the vocabulary you know and guess the meaning of new words based on the events taking place in the movie.

Find friends by mail online. Correspondents are people who are learning the language you use to write letters (or email) and they send you letters back. You write half the body of the letter in your native language for them to practice and the other half in English so you can practice. You can write about anything you want! You can find friends by mail online on many websites.

Sing song. Learning and singing songs is another effective way to improve English. This method helps you learn about sounds in English (rhymes will help you learn pronunciation). In addition, this also helps to improve vocabulary. Find a song you love, study it, and find out what the lyrics mean.

Take part in the course. English courses help you learn the most important words and grammar, and can ensure that you are learning the right way. There are two main ways to take English courses:

  • Take an online course. You can take courses online. Some courses charge fees and others do not. Fee-based courses are often better than free courses, but that’s not always the case! Some of the top quality online programs are LiveMocha and Dupingo.
  • Take a course at school. You can study at your local college or English school. These courses cost a fee, but teacher support is very important and helps you learn faster than studying on your own.

Write diary. This way you have to apply your writing skills and vocabulary. It also forces you to practice writing new sentences, instead of just repeating sentences that you already know. You can keep a daily journal or keep a small notebook to write down new words as you hear or come across them.

Travel to an English speaking country. Traveling to a place where everyone speaks English will help you learn a lot faster. Work temporarily or study abroad in an English-speaking country. Alternatively you can join short trips, but it is recommended to immerse yourself in the language for at least 3 months for best results.

Immersed. This is one of the most effective language learning methods. This means you need to study English every day, at least 3 hours a day. One hour a week is not enough. If you can spend at least 6 hours practicing listening, writing, and speaking in English, this will work best for you.

Do’s and Don’ts

{“smallUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images_en/thumb/c/c7/3227950-13.jpg/v4-728px-3227950-13.jpg”,”bigUrl”:”https:// www.wikihow.com/images/thumb/c/c7/3227950-13.jpg/v4-728px-3227950-13.jpg”,”smallWidth”:460,”smallHeight”:345,”bigWidth”:728,” bigHeight”:546,”licensing”:”<div class=”mw-parser-output”></div>”}
Learn words in small groups. When learning new words, you should not learn too many words. Just learn a few words at a time and don’t learn new words until you ‘ve mastered them.

Label everything in the house. Label each object in your home to help you learn vocabulary. This helps you associate images when you see words, instead of having to translate everything in your head.

Don’t study with flashcards. In general, you should not use flashcards with only vocabulary (English words on one side and native language words on the other). This teaches you how to translate things, making you slow to understand English while listening. Instead, you should learn English words with sounds or pictures.

{“smallUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images_en/thumb/0/0e/Learn-English-Faster-Step-2.jpg/v4-728px-Learn-English-Faster-Step-2. jpg”,”bigUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images/thumb/0/0e/Learn-English-Faster-Step-2.jpg/v4-728px-Learn-English-Faster-Step- 2.jpg”,”smallWidth”:460,”smallHeight”:345,”bigWidth”:728,”bigHeight”:546,”licensing”:”<div class=”mw-parser-output”></div> “}
Don’t focus too much on grammar. One thing about English is that most people don’t speak standard grammar and very few people can apply grammar fluently when speaking. If you spend all your time studying grammar, you will waste a lot of time. Maybe you’re not right. Others will edit and you will absorb over time. Eventually the words will sound correct and you don’t even have to think about them.

    Don’t hesitate to try! The most important thing when learning a language quickly is simply speaking. Use language skills as much as you can. Don’t worry about misapplying or saying the wrong thing. Not using a skill slows you down. Instead talk a lot because you can do it!
  • Advice

    • When writing a sentence, you should pause for a minute and read it aloud. Clear error correction.
    • When you come across words you don’t know: look up the dictionary to increase your vocabulary.

    Warning

    • If you intend to pay for a service or course, you should only choose a reputable service or course.
