Boil eggs thoroughly. To thoroughly boil eggs, boil a large pot of water on the stove. Then gently place the eggs in the water and let them boil for 8-14 minutes. You can also boil eggs by putting them in a pot of cold water, bring the water to a boil, then remove the pot from the heat and leave the eggs in the water for 9-15 minutes.

  • If you boil an egg for 8 minutes, the egg will have a firm white and a yellow yolk.
  • Boiling the eggs for 12 minutes will make the yolks thoroughly cooked.
  • Boiling eggs for 14 minutes or so will make the yolks spongy, easily broken. [1] X Research Source

  • If the eggs are undercooked, boil the remaining eggs for another 30-60 seconds.
  • If the eggs are overcooked, remove the remaining eggs from the water so they don’t overcook.

Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water if they are already hard-boiled. If the eggs are cooked to your liking, you can prevent them from overcooking by immediately transferring them to a bowl of ice water. Put a few ice cubes in a bowl and pour half a bowl of water. Then, using a punctured spoon, carefully move the eggs from the pot to the bowl.

  • Advice

    • If you’re not sure if the egg is raw or hard-boiled, take a raw egg and spin both eggs on a hard surface. If they rotate at the same speed, then both are alive. If one fruit rotates faster than the other, the fruit is ripe.
