Use eggs. It sounds strange, but eggs can actually do wonders for your hair. Egg yolk nourishes the hair by adding moisture so that the hair does not become dull. Egg whites clean the hair by removing everything that has accumulated on the hair. Eggs also contain protein that helps strengthen hair. The result you get will be a really shiny hair after just one treatment. Here’s how to do it:

  • Beat an egg in a small bowl.
  • Wet hair.
  • Pour eggs on top. Use a wide comb to comb your hair from root to tip.
  • Leave the egg in your hair for at least 15 minutes.
  • Wash your hair with shampoo as usual. Rinse with cold water for maximum effect.

Try apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is quickly becoming a popular all-natural hair conditioner. Apple cider vinegar balances the pH of the hair, cleans the hair, and leaves it feeling soft. The vinegar smell on the hair will also disappear when the hair is dry. Follow the steps below to condition your hair with apple cider vinegar: [1] X Research Source

  • Wash your hair with shampoo as usual, but do not use conditioner.
  • Pour a solution of 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar and 1 tablespoon water over the top. Comb hair from root to tip. Long hair may require 2-3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.
  • Leave the apple cider vinegar on your hair for 5 minutes, then rinse your hair with cold water in the shower.

Make an avocado mask. Avocados have natural fats that help nourish and shine hair. You should use a ripe avocado to make it easier to spread the mixture on your hair. [2] X Source of Research Try an avocado hair mask when your hair is dry and needs a boost of moisture.

  • Mash an avocado until smooth. You can also use a blender or food processor to blend the butter.
  • Wet hair.
  • Spread butter on your hair from root to tip.
  • Leave the butter in your hair for at least 15 minutes.
  • Wash your hair with shampoo as usual. Rinse with cold water.

Use honey. Honey has hygroscopic and cleansing properties. With the combination of these two properties, honey has the effect of polishing dull hair. Raw honey is the most nutritious, but any type of honey will work. How to make a honey mask for hair as follows: [3] X Research Source

  • Mix 1/4 cup honey with 1/4 cup warm water.
  • Wet hair.
  • Brush the honey mixture on your hair.
  • Leave the honey on your hair for about 15 minutes or so.
  • Wash your hair with shampoo as usual. Rinse hair with cold water.

Intensive hair care. If your hair is not shiny because it is dry, dull and frizzy, then an intensive hair treatment solution can fix the problem. You can buy an intensive hair conditioner at the store or make your own with coconut or olive oil. Once a week, you should follow these hair care steps:

  • Wet hair.
  • Comb 1-3 tablespoons of coconut or olive oil into your hair, from the roots to the ends. Cover your hair with a shower cap or cling wrap.
  • Let the oil infuse for up to 30 minutes.
  • Wash your hair with shampoo. You may need to wash it two or three times to remove the oil. Rinse with cold water.

Apply dry conditioner to wet hair. If you have dry hair, your hair may look dull when it dries. A good dry conditioner can prevent hair from becoming dry and dull. While your hair is still wet, apply a small amount of dry conditioner (the size of a dime) to your hair. Use a comb to comb from the roots to the ends of the hair.

Let hair dry naturally. That’s right, Brazilian straightening will make your hair shiny and smooth in the beginning. However, after a while, drying and straightening hair will make hair damaged, dull and rough. When you let your hair dry naturally, you will avoid the risk of hair damage. After a few weeks or months, you will start to see a noticeable difference in the texture of your hair: your hair will be softer and shinier.

  • Do your best to avoid using heat styling tools. Straighteners, curling irons, and the like can make your hair look good in the short term, but in the long run, your hair will become dull.
  • For optimal results, you should put your hair in loose buns or braids to avoid tangles when your hair is dry. With curly hair, you can gently squeeze and style your hair before it dries.

Use hair oil. Once your hair is dry, apply some hair oil to the curls. A good product will give your hair an instant shine and protect it from damage. Wait for hair to dry completely for best results. Less is better, so don’t apply more oil than a penny, depending on the length of your hair. You can buy hair oils or use one of the following: [4] X Research Source

  • argan oil
  • Almond oil
  • Jojoba oil

Try a hair serum. This product is specially formulated to add shine to the hair. The hair shine serum contains silicone and other ingredients for an instant shine. Most shine serums work on dry and wet hair.

  • Using a hair shine serum every day can have the opposite effect of what you expect. The silicone that gives the hair shine will build up in the hair over time and make it dull. You should save the serum for special occasions.
  • Look for an alcohol-free serum. Alcohol will dry out your hair.

Try to avoid clutter. Unruly condition is the enemy of shiny hair. Frizzy hair makes hair look dull and rough instead of smooth. Whether it’s straight hair or curly hair, you can fix this situation by the following ways:

  • Wash your hair with cool water. The cool temperature helps the hair shaft to collapse instead of standing up. You will be amazed at the difference this simple trick makes.
  • Don’t use a towel to dry your hair too hard. You need to gently pat your hair and let it dry naturally. Wiping your hair vigorously will cause it to stand up and become frizzy.
  • Use a wide comb instead of a hairbrush. Hairbrushes often break hair, especially curly or wavy hair. Broken hairs will stand up and become frizzy. You should use a wide brush to comb your hair. Remove your hair while it is still wet, starting from the ends and working upwards.
  • Use silk or satin pillowcases to support your head while sleeping. Those with curly hair know that this trick is great for frizzy hair. Cotton fabric will absorb moisture, making hair dry and frizzy. Satin or silk will help the hair preserve its natural, frizz-free state. [5] X Research Sources

Trim your hair regularly. Getting rid of split ends will make your hair shinier. You should also ask your hairdresser not to use chemicals and heat styling tools.

Hair styling. Many people think that it is impossible to style their hair without using heat. However, with a little effort, you can still let your hair dry naturally and still have good results. Apply a little bit of light hold product and part your hair with your fingers, then comb your hair into the desired style. When the hair is dry, secure the sections by twisting or clipping as you like. Once the moisture has evaporated, you can use your fingers to dab hair conditioner to fix the hair.

Keep your hair healthy

Wash your hair less. Washing your hair too often strips your hair of sebum, a natural oil that helps protect and keep hair healthy. Hair that has lost its oil will be brittle, dull and dry. To keep your hair shiny, you should only wash your hair with shampoo no more than once or twice a week.

  • It may take two weeks or so for your hair to rebalance and get used to washing less often. You may have to tie your hair up during the transition.
  • Between washes, you can clean the roots with dry shampoo. This product will absorb oil without stripping the hair of the oil.

Use natural products. Washing and styling your hair with products that contain a lot of chemicals can damage your hair over time. Many shampoos, conditioners, and styling products contain ingredients that can further damage hair. Look for all-natural products that don’t contain the following ingredients:

  • Sulfate. This substance is often found in shampoos. They are strong cleansers and will strip the hair of its natural oils.
  • Silicone. This substance is often found in conditioners and hair shine products. Silicone will gradually build up on the hair and make it dull. [6] X Research Source
  • Alcohp (alcohol). This substance is commonly found in gels, hair sprays, and styling products. Alcohol will dry out your hair over time.

Avoid harsh hair treatments. Dyeing, bleaching, permanent straightening and perming can cause long-term damage. Changing the natural state of your hair will eventually make your hair dry and brittle. You should avoid strong products whenever possible.

  • Henna dyes can make hair extremely dry similar to natural bleaches, such as metal salts. Temporary dyes would be a less harmful option.
  • Use honey or chamomile tea to lighten your hair color naturally.

Adopt a healthy diet and lifestyle. No matter what you do with your hair, you can’t have naturally shiny hair if you’re not healthy from the inside. Eating nutritious foods and staying hydrated is the way to beautiful hair. Try eating more of the following foods for the healthiest hair possible:

  • Fish, beef, poultry, eggs, beans and other foods rich in protein. Hair is made up of protein, and will suffer immediately if you don’t eat enough protein. Combining energy-rich carbohydrates with protein is especially effective.
  • Avocados and nuts. These foods contain healthy fats that make hair thick and shiny.
  • Vegetables are rich in nutrients. Green leafy vegetables like spinach and kale are great for hair health.

Drink a lot of water. When the body is dehydrated, the hair will also lose its healthy appearance and start to become weak. Drink plenty of water to help keep your hair healthy. Make sure to drink 8 glasses of water a day.

  • You can keep your body hydrated by eating water-rich fruits and vegetables. Choose watermelon, berries, apples, cucumbers, lettuce, and cabbage.
  • Drink herbal teas and other caffeine-free teas to stay hydrated.

Protects hair from external agents. Sunlight, temperature extremes and environmental pollution can leave hair in its healthiest state. Protect your hair from damage with the following measures:

  • Wear a hat when the sun is hot. The sun is very powerful and can damage your hair if you don’t protect your hair.
  • Wear a swimming cap when swimming in the lake. Chlorine will dry out your hair and leave streaks. If you go swimming without a swim cap, wash your hair as soon as you get out of the pool.
  • Don’t go out in the cold with wet hair. Your hair will likely freeze and lead to frizz.

Gives natural shine to hair. Curly and coarse hair will curl and will refract light instead of reflecting it. To add shine to your hair, try using conditioners, conditioners, and shine serums. These treatments will help to increase moisture, smooth the cuticle and reflect light. [7] X Research Sources

  • Try rinsing your hair with apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar can smooth the cuticles, making hair look shinier. You can mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with 1 cup of water to rinse your hair after shampooing.
  • Use extra conditioner to condition your hair. Aloe vera, coconut oil, olive oil and jojoba oil can all be used as dry conditioners. Apply 1-2 tablespoons of oil to wet hair. Let your hair dry naturally with conditioner.
  • Complete your hair care with a shine serum. Buy serums that contain mineral oil for maximum shine. You can also finish with Moroccan oil or coconut oil to condition and shine.

Add shine to color treated hair. Dyed or bleached hair over time often becomes dry and frizzy. Instead of just polishing your hair, you should also use hair treatments at the same time. Good hair care also helps hair color last.

  • Use a hair product instead of dye. Hair shine products don’t just change hair color. It is a transparent coating that conditions the hair and protects it from drying out. As the name suggests, this product will also make hair shiny. [8] X Research Sources
  • Wash your hair with cold water. This simple tip will help the dye last longer (similar to washing clothes in cold water to keep the color of the fabric). Cold water also smooths the cuticles and makes the hair shiny.
  • Avoid harsh hair products. Cleaning products, hairspray, and other products containing sulfates and alcohp can strip away moisture, color, and shine. You should use natural products that are formulated to keep your hair moisturized.

Polishes heat-damaged hair. For shiny hair, many people use blow dryers and straighteners daily. Over time, this will cause hair to break and become frizzy. If you want healthy and smooth hair again, now is the time to stop using heat to treat your hair.

  • Let your hair dry naturally for a few months. Put away all heat styling tools and make sure your hair has a chance to recover.
  • Focus on hair care. Use a deep conditioner, a hydrating hair mask, and a pig bristle brush to help restore your hair’s health. This will reduce frizz and result in shinier curls.
  • Use an oil or serum to shine your hair when it’s dry. Oil or serum will help protect hair better than dry conditioner, while also creating shine for hair. Try Moroccan oil, coconut oil, or jojoba oil. Focus on the ends of the hair, which tend to dry faster than the rest of the hair. [9] X Research Source

Shine thinning hair. When your hair is thinning, you need to take care of your hair gently if you want to have healthy shiny hair. The aim here is to add shine and thickness to the hair without further damaging the hair.

    • Let your hair dry naturally whenever possible to avoid further thinning with heat styling tools. When your hair is dry, clip it around your head to lift the roots. This way can make your hair thicker without having to use a hair dryer.
    • Curling hair without heat. Use fabric curls instead of curling irons or hot rollers. This way you can gently add volume without damaging or losing your hair.
    • Finish with a light serum. Dry conditioners, gels, or “heavy” hairspray mousses will cause thinning hair to fall out. To add shine and volume to your hair, use a very light oil or serum. Aloe vera is a great choice. You can even make your own aloe vera hairspray. [10] X Research Source
    • Only use shine products at the ends of your hair, as they will make your hair appear thinner if you apply it close to the scalp.
  • Advice

    • Use oil to nourish hair growth and shine. Massage the oil into your scalp an hour before showering and rinsing.
    • Carry a small comb in your backpack to school/work, etc… Confidentially go to the bathroom to quickly comb your messy hair from wearing a hat!
    • Apply conditioner at the last minute after shampooing and rinse quickly to create a coat of conditioner that envelops hair, for smoother, more beautiful hair.
    • After applying conditioner, let it sit for 5 minutes before rinsing with cool or cold water.

    Warning

    • Don’t brush your hair too hard to avoid split ends and headaches (and hand pain if you have long hair!)
    • Try not to use too much shampoo and conditioner, so your hair doesn’t dry out further.
    • When rinsing out your conditioner at the last minute, you should rinse quickly, making sure only a small amount of conditioner is left in your hair. If you don’t, your hair may end up with tangles and clumps of dry conditioner, and your hair will end up getting dirty!
