Onions are vegetables that are both easy to grow, delicious, and present in many dishes. If you have an onion on hand, you don’t need to grow onions by seed. By simply cutting off the bottom of an onion and planting it in the ground, you can grow onion plants from cut onion pieces. Pour well-draining soil into the pot. Go to the nursery and buy a well-draining soil mix and a large pot with holes in the bottom. Fill the pot halfway with soil – you will cover the rest of the pot with soil after planting the onion pieces.
