Form a tight fist in line with the elbow as you throw the fist. Bend your fingers so that the fingertips are pressed into the center of the palm. Try to collect your fist so that the front is very flat so that when punching, it does not hurt your hand. The thumb rests under the fist and applies pressure to tighten the fist.
