  • Vimeo’s menu bar. The top line, on the left side of the screen, after the word Vimeo, is the page’s menu bar.

Select the filter(s) in the search results. This step selects filter(s) and filters in the search results to find Creative Commons open-licensed videos [1] X Research and/or public domain sources by testing each paper in turn. Creative Commons license in the License filter with a combination of the Free selection of the Price filter for a smaller number of listings that match your search. As an example, this article will work with the search results returned when the English search term, is ‘ comics ‘.

  • In the search results screen, on the left hand side, you will normally see search results returned for videos with the default values of the filters. Each filter and its options are listed in turn under the phrase ‘ Refine by: ‘ and include the following filters: (1) Category ; (2) Date uploaded – Date uploaded; (3) Duration – The duration of the video; (4) Vimeo cplections – Vimeo collections; (5) Price – Cost; (6) License – License; (7) Mature content – Mature content. By default this filter is always on. The selections of each filter are lined up from top to bottom, making it impossible to fit the height of a computer screen. Normally, in the first returned results screen, you can only see the first 2 filters like the English search results screen above. So you’ll always have to click the +More filters or +More + More filters phrase(s) to continue seeing the selections of the filters you need.

    • The Price filter appears.
    • The License filter appears with its final selection, CC0 . If you don’t see the CC0 option, keep clicking where +More is located.

After you’ve checked the license of each of your favorite Creative Commons open-licensed videos and if it’s correct, your next step might be looking to download it to your computer to watch at your leisure and/or making adaptations or blending for your teaching, learning, research or personal purposes, you may:
      • Click the Download button to download the video to your computer. However, many times you do not see the Download button anywhere on the screen of the selected video.
