This wikiHow teaches you how to create curves in Photoshop on a Windows or Mac computer. The most basic way is to use the default Pen Top option, but you can also use a simplified version of Pen Top to draw curved lines by clicking different points on the canvas.

Create the second point of the curve. Click and hold the mouse at the junction with the original point, then drag the mouse in the opposite direction from the direction you dragged when you created the curve.

  • To create an “S” curve, you need to drag your mouse to the same side where you created the arc.

Add more curves. You can add a curve to the current stroke by clicking and holding the next point of the curve and dragging the mouse to set the curvature of the shape.

Add points. You can continue adding points by clicking where you want the curve to go. The stroke will automatically curve along the points.

    Reset the position of the curve. If you want to bend part of the curve inward or outward, click and drag the mouse at that point inward or outward to do so.
  • Advice

    • You can also use the Freeform Pen option to draw curves as you would on paper. Curves made with the Freeform Pen tool will be less detailed than strokes from the Pen top.

    Warning

    • There will be times when you need to return to a certain point because the curve is not what you want. To do this, you can press Ctrl + Z (Windows) or ⌘ Command + Z (Mac).
