In this post, we will learn how to draw a pot of gold with basic drawing tools. We will consider the different sizes and shapes of each part of the pot of gold. The lines in each step is outlined in blue so you can identify the current lines that you should be working on.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Draw The Rim

   We begin by drawing a big oval in the middle of the paper. Next we add a smaller oval inside to complete the pot’s rim.

2. Complete The Pot

   Then, we add its body which is similar to a big circle; follow the illustration to see how it is drawn.

3. Add Shamrock Design

   Now, we add the shamrock clover design to the front of this pot of gold. You can also draw some simple, but decorative feet to the bottom of this pot.

4. Draw The Gold Coins

   Start drawing the gold coins on top of each other. Each gold coin can be drawn as an oval shape. Fill that pot up with gold by drawing many oval shapes!

5. Add Shimmering Effects

   We may complete our pot of gold drawing with some optional shimmering effects.

6. Complete Your Drawing

   Grab your crayons or colored pencils and complete your pot of gold drawing! I used mostly green, yellow, and a wee bit of orange colors for this illustration.
