Currently, there are many applications (apps) on the market. There are apps that make everyday life easier, apps that help with business or education, apps that make your device less boring, and apps that entertain. You can download apps from the App Store (app store) on your iPad, or use iTunes to sync apps on your computer.

Check that you’re signed in with your Apple ID account. You’ll need an Apple ID associated with your iPad to be able to download apps from the App Store. You can check by opening the Settings app and selecting “iTunes & App Store”. You’ll see your Apple ID account just above the menu bar. If you don’t see it, log in (sign in) or create a new Apple ID account.

Open the App Store. Place the App Store icon on your iPad’s home screen and tap it to activate it. You will be taken to the App Store homepage.

Open the browser the applications you want to have. Use the search bar if you want to find a specific application, or open the browser in the preset applications if you need suggestions. When you find the app you need, tap it to open the download page.

Click the “Free” or “Price” button. If the app is paid, there will be a button showing the price. If the app is free, there will be a “Free” button there. Tap the price button to confirm the app purchase with the credit card associated with your Apple ID account (or whatever gift card balance you just received). When you buy or get an app for free, an “Install” button appears.

Install apps. Click the “Install” button. The app will begin downloading to your iPad. You can check the installation speed by looking at the app download circle. Some large applications will take a long time to download and install.

Open a new application. If you’re still on the App Store app page, you can press the “Open” button that appears after the installation finishes. Or, the app will show up on the home page after finishing the installation and you can open the app there.

Sign in with your Apple ID account. You need to sign in with your Apple ID account to purchase or download apps from the iTunes App Store for free. This account is the same Apple ID account that is tied to your iPad.

Connect iPad to computer. Your iPad will have a USB cord; Use this cord to connect your device to the computer. The iTunes app opens automatically when iPad is plugged into the computer; if not, run iTunes from your PC or Mac.

Get the app from the iTunes App Store. Click the “iTunes Store” button in the upper right corner, or choose Store → Home . Click the Apps tab at the top of the app store to open the App Store.

  • You can search for specific apps or open a browser for the most downloaded apps.
  • To download the app, click the “Free” or “Price” button on the application details page. If the app has a fee, you’ll have to purchase the app with a credit card tied to your Apple ID account, or use a gift card balance. However, not all countries apply gift cards.
  • Once you’ve purchased the app or clicked the “Free” button, you can download the app to your computer. The new app will automatically sync with your iPad.

Select iPad from the Devices menu. You can manage which apps are synced with your iPad. Your iPad will show up under “Devices” in the toolbar. Press the Select button to open iPad settings. If the toolbar is not visible, click View → Hide Sidebar .

Click the “Apps” tab. The App Manager in iPad will open. Make sure the “Sync Apps” box at the top of the screen is ticked.

Select the apps you want to sync. Check the app you want to sync with your iPad. Do not mark the apps you want to remove from iPad. You can also drag and drop apps onto the simulated iPad screen and rearrange apps on it.
