Deleting your Gmail account is a big deal because you will lose access to other Gmail-related Google products and services, such as Google Drive or the Play Store. If you want to delete your account, you can do so on the Google account management page. Conversely, if you accidentally delete your account, you can recover it if you act in time.

Click on your profile picture, or the first letter of your name, in the upper-right corner of the Gmail screen. From the inbox screen, click the circle button in the top right corner. You’ll see a menu with a blue “My Account” button appear, with options for “Add Account” and “Sign Out”.

Select “Delete Products” and log back in to confirm your decision. After clicking on “Delete your account or services”, you will see the option on the right side as follows, delete only small products (like Gmail) or delete all accounts and data. Confirm account deletion. When you select “Delete account and data”, a warning dialog will appear, asking you to confirm you want to delete the account. Visit the Google Password Assistance page . At the login page, select “I’m having other problems signing in'”. Enter the deleted email address, click “Continue”.
