Put that shirt on.
Use a tape measure to measure the distance from the hem of the shirt to the waist. You need to cut the shirt a little longer than the waist so that the hemline rolls up to the waist and is not too short.
Use a pencil or fabric chalk to mark the measurement position on the shirt.
Use scissors to cut a horizontal line at the marked position on the shirt. Laying the shirt on a flat surface is easiest to cut.
Drag to roll the edge of the cut line.

Cut your shirt into a blazer

Cut sleeves. Start at a point 2.5cm below the armpit and cut upwards towards the collar. Do not discard the cut arm.
Cut off the collar if desired. Cut at the hem for even shoulders.
Drag to roll the cut edge.

  • Optional: Lay the front of the shirt down on a flat surface. Pull the fabric on the back from the underarms to the center of the shirt.
  • Optional: Cut a long piece of fabric from the sleeve and wrap it around the part of the shirt you’ve grabbed. Tie a secure knot and tuck the knot inside the wrapping fabric.
