Nether Portal will take you to Hell (Nether) in Minecraft. The portal is made of Obsidian, one of the hardest materials to mine in the game. If you have a diamond pickaxe (Diamond Pickaxe), you can mine Blackface and create portals. In case you don’t have a diamond pickaxe, use a “mould” to create a portal structure without mining. Nether Portal is available in every version of Minecraft.

Use diamond pickaxe

Crafting Diamond Pickaxe. Diamond Pickaxe can be crafted with three diamonds and two wooden sticks. You will need a diamond pickaxe to mine the Blackface Stone.

Fill a few buckets of water. Blackface is formed by pouring water into lava source blocks. A bucket of water will create a block of Blackface Stone. It takes at least ten Blackfaced stones to make the gate, and you should also bring extra water in case something goes wrong.

Find lava. Lava often appears deep underground, but you can still slip into a lava lake anywhere in the world. Lava appears most often at coordinates Y:11.

Smash a bucket of water against the wall above the lava blocks. The rule here is that the water should spread evenly over the lava blocks. The place where water comes into contact with lava becomes a Black Face Stone.

Extinguished lava means a gradual loss of light. You should put several torches before pouring water into the lava to maintain the light.

Use the diamond pickaxe to mine the Blackface Stone. You need 10 Blackfaced stones to make the portal. Rinse and repeat the water bucket trick if necessary.

Note: the process of mining Blackface Stone takes a long time (9.4 seconds). You can speed up the process by using the effective charm “Efficiency”.
If you’re standing on water, be careful that the current doesn’t push you into the slowly exposed lava.

Make a frame for the gate. You should set up a frame near your house to easily resupply the necessary items in the inventory when returning from Hell. The portal frame is at least 4×5 blocks (no corners needed), so you need at least 10 blocks. ^{[1] X Research Source}

Place two Blackface blocks side by side on the ground, then place a placeholder block on each end. Place three more Blackfaced blocks vertically on top of each placehpder block. Light the gate with the Flint and Steel igniter. This tool can be crafted with an iron ingot and a diagonal piece of flint. The space in the center of the portal will glow purple when activated.

Stand in the portal for a few seconds. Depending on your device’s processor capabilities, you will be teleported to Hell for about 4 seconds. You can cancel the teleport by stepping out of the portal, but you need to act fast before the vision starts to distort. The return portal will be created in Hell, right where you appeared.

Don’t forget to bring your igniter when you go to Hell. The demon Ghast can bring you back into the portal, then Flint and Steel will help you re-light the portal.

Use this method if you don’t have a diamond pickaxe. You can build Hell’s Gate without using a diamond pickaxe by creating your own waterfall and using a lava bucket to frame the Black Face Stone.

Advice

Always be careful with everything around when in Hell, because if you accidentally bump into Zombie Pigmen, all of them will chase you.
Cobblestone is very useful in securing the portal because the Ghasts cannot blow up the Nether Portal.
You need to make sure you have enough armor, weapons and food!
Always carry an igniter with you as Ghast can kick you out of the gate.
Be careful around cliffs or holes in the ground as they can contain lava or deadly wormholes.
Do not use the bed while in Hell, you will explode.
The only way to bring water to Hell is to put it in a cauldron. This trick can help you survive a fire attack.
Live near the gate. That way you can teleport back and forth when in danger.
