Choose a template. Click the template that you want to use to open that frame’s window.

Choose a theme if possible. Various templates with different color groups or themes are displayed in the colors at the bottom right of the window; clicking on one of those frames changes the color and/or theme of the frame.

  • Skip this step if the selected template does not have a theme available.

Find out what the title page looks like. In contrast to the rest of your PowerPoint presentation, your title page should have absolutely nothing but a title and subtitle. This is a mandatory rule when creating PowerPoint presentations.

  • If you want to create a PowerPoint presentation with a title page that requires a lot of information, skip this step.

Add title. Click the large input box in the middle of the first page to type your title.

Add subtitles. Click the small input box below the title box, then enter the subtitles you want.

Rearrange the title frames. Place the mouse pointer over one edge of the title frame, then click and move the frame around the page to adjust its position.

  • You can also click and drag the corners of the frame to shrink or expand the input pane.

Click the Transitions tab at the top of the PowerPoint window. This will bring up a list of transition effects at the top of the window.

Choose a transition effect for the title page. Click a transition that you want to use for your page. This is the final handling for the title page; Now you can move on to adding another page for the main body of your presentation.

  • Putting your mouse pointer over the transition will help you see what the actual page transition looks like.

Click New Slide ▼ (New Page) in the left corner of the toolbar to open a selection list.

Select a page type. You’ll click one of the following categories in the drop-down list to add to your presentation:

Add more pages if you need. You can add pages as you roll out your content, but adding a few pages in advance will give you an idea of the layout of your presentation as you go.

Sort the pages if necessary. Once you have multiple pages in your PowerPoint presentation, you can move the pages by clicking and dragging the page preview pane up or down in the left column of the PowerPoint window.

  • Usually, the title page is the first page in the presentation, which means it’s always number one in the left column.

Select a page. In the page preview column on the left, click on a page to edit to open it in the main presentation window.

Find the data entry box. If you’ve selected a page with a data entry frame available, you can enter content on that page.

Add content to the page. Click in the input box and type the content you want.

  • The data entry boxes in PowerPoint automatically format the data for you (such as adding bullets) based on the flow of the body of the body.

Format the content on the page. If necessary, select the content you want to change, then click the Home tab and view the content format options in the “Font” section of the toolbar.

  • You can change the font style of the selected body by clicking the name of the current typeface and then clicking another font that you like.
  • If you want to change the font size, click on the number selection box and click a larger or smaller number depending on whether you want to enlarge or reduce the text.
  • You can also change the color, bold font style, italic style, underline and many other options in this section.

Add photos to the page. If you want to add an image to the page, click the Insert tab, then select Pictures in the toolbar and select an image.

Sort the content of the page. Similar to the title page, you can move content around the page by clicking and dragging.

  • Photos can be enlarged or reduced by clicking and dragging the edge of the image or dragging at one of the corners of the image.

    • If you save your PowerPoint presentation in the .pps format instead of the default .ppt format, double-clicking the PowerPoint file will immediately display the content as a slide show.
