How to Create a Poll in Slack on PC or Mac

This article shows you how to install the Simple Ppl app into Slack and create a poll on a chat channel using a desktop Internet browser.

Open Simple Ppl in an Internet browser. Type simpleppl.rocks in the address bar and then press ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard.

Click the Add to Slack button. This button is in the center of the page. You will now be asked to grant the Simple Ppl permission in the Slack workspace.

If you’re not automatically signed in to Slack in the browser, you’ll be asked to enter your workspace address, and then sign in with your email and password.

Click the green Allow button. This step allows you to create and share polls in the selected workspace.

Open Slack on your computer. You can use the Slack desktop app or sign in to your workspace on Slack.com.

Select a channel in the left pane. Search for the channel you want to vote on in the workspace’s channel list and open it.

Type /ppl "Question" "1" "2" into the message field. This command allows you to create a vote using the Simple Ppl application and share it with multiple people in the chat.

Replace "Question" with the one you actually want to ask (remember to enclose it in quotes). Remove the Question in quotes and enter your question in the poll.

Replace "1" and "2" with the answer options. Remove the numbers in quotation marks, then enter a number of answer options for people to vote on.
