Preparing instruments. You will need a canvas (size is optional), crayons (choose according to the size of the canvas), a glue gun, and a hair dryer. In addition, you also need to line newspaper or old t-shirts or towels under the canvas to prevent the wax color from splashing out.

  • Cover up areas that you think will get dirty. Also, don’t forget to protect your body! Avoid letting the wax color get on your skin and beautiful clothes.

Arrange crayons. The arrangement will depend on your wishes. The rainbow is a popular design pattern; so if you choose this style you will put the crayons in rainbow color order. Some people rank crayons in order from light to dark; Others will stack one color with many different tones. The color arrangement is completely up to your creativity.

  • Just make sure you have enough color to cover the entire surface of the canvas. Repeated colors also produce beautiful results.

Use a glue gun to stick the crayons onto the canvas surface. Some people keep the sheath around the pen, others peel it off, but both methods work.

  • You can peel off the cover and cut the crayon in half. This makes the work look more natural, and 8cm above the canvas does not show the wax border clearly.

Tilt the canvas to let the wax flow down. The most common way is to place the picture frame against the wall. If you choose to lean against the wall, you should stick newspaper before the wall so that the wall does not get dirty.

Use a hair dryer to melt the crayons. It is best to place the dryer facing down on the crayon so that the wax can flow down. Note that this can be very dirty! However, if you’ve lined the newspaper properly, there’s no need to worry.

  • You can use candles to make the wax melt faster. This method is somewhat more dangerous and candle wax will also leave stains. If you don’t mind getting dirty and want to save time, candles are a suitable choice.
  • Heat guns are also a time-saving alternative and can be purchased at art supplies stores.

Wait for the work to dry.

Add the final details. Edit your work. Remove crayons and bits of dried wax on unwanted areas. Add color if you like.

  • Showcase your work! Hang your artwork on the wall or post photos on Facebook or Tumblr to show off to your loved ones. Show the world your creativity; everyone will like! Young children will love your creations too!

Use a glue gun

Prepare the canvas. Fix the fabric on a wall or on a chair lined with a towel. Choose a place where you don’t mind getting dirty. Choose a canvas size that matches the amount of wax you have.
Place a crayon in the glue gun. Peel off the paper covering the crayons of your choice, and trim the crayons to make it easier to attach to the glue gun.

  • If you want to use multiple colors, after attaching the first crayon to the glue gun, you will then add a second, a third and so on – this will help push the wax out.

Create color on canvas. With this method, you can control the amount of color and let the color flow the way you want. You can also create a familiar style with a flowing color, or create shapes and designs to your liking. Place the glue gun close to the canvas and get creative!

  • When you run out of color, just add another crayon to the glue gun. You will see the color flowing from the tip of the gun become lighter or darker as the next crayon begins to bleed.

Hong dry. This is faster than using a hair dryer, right? If you need to clean the glue gun, simply put a regular glue stick in the gun and let the glue melt until it becomes transparent and has no color or any wax.

    • If you’re not satisfied with a part of your work, this method can make it easier to go back and fix (or add color) to that part.
  • Advice

    • Wear old clothes so you don’t have to worry about getting dirty during the procedure.
    • Make sure your canvas is thick enough that the crayons don’t run down.
    • You can leave the crayon on the canvas to create an effect like the color flowing from the crayon.
    • Prepare extra towels or rags, in case there are not enough newspapers.
    • Use a brush or sponge to create soft lines. You can add more tape to create styles or textures.
    • Some people even write letters on canvas and pour color into the strokes. Common words are: belief, creativity, smiling, innovation.
    • Ask someone else to help you hold the hair dryer to shorten the time it takes.
    • Do this outdoors to avoid staining the interior and leaving a waxy smell inside. On hot days, you don’t have to use the dryer. You just need to bring the crayon out to the sun.
    • Set the dryer on high speed when you want to melt the crayons.
    • Arrange crayons in different shapes to create unique patterns, like hearts, circles, etc.
    • You can also start selling unique works from crayons.
    • Using a candle or heat gun is more effective than using a dryer.

    Warning

    • Make sure not to get crayons on furniture or carpets as they are extremely difficult to clean.
    • Be careful not to touch the work once you’re done, as you could burn your skin if the wax hasn’t cooled down.
    • Be careful when using a glue gun as it is very hot and can cause burns.
