The CSV (“comma-separated value”) format allows users to save data as a table. This format is very useful in case you need to manage large databases. CSV files can be created with Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice Calc, Google Sheets (or Google Sheets), and Notepad.

Open a new spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice Calc, or Google Sheets.

Type each title or field name in the cells in row 1 at the top of the spreadsheet. For example, for the items you are selling, enter “Item Name” in cell A1, “Item Price” in cell B1, “Item Description” in cell C1, and so on. [1] X Research Source

Enter data into the spreadsheet below each column if necessary. Following the example above in step #2, enter the item names in cell A2, the sale price in cell B2, and the description of those items in cell C2.

Select “CSV” below the “Save as type” drop-down menu.

Launch Notepad and enter the field names separated by commas in the first line. For example, when entering data about the items you are selling, enter the following in the first line: “ten,gia,mota”. Note: no spaces between entries.

Enter data in the second line in the same format as the field names in the first line. Following the example described in step #1, enter the actual item name, followed by the item’s price along with the description. For example, if you sell baseball, the content to enter is “bongchay,10000,thethao”.
