One cup of rice requires two cups of water. Remember that the rice will double in size after cooking.
Wash the rice in two or three water. Place the rice in a bowl under cold running water. Use both hands to rub the rice. Let the rice settle and then drain the water. Repeat two or three times. This will help remove the bran layer on the surface of the rice and prevent the rice from clumping.
Fill the rice with water again. Soak rice overnight. This will ensure that the rice does not clump.

  • If you don’t have much time, cook after you’ve rinsed the rice two or three times.

Cook rice

Pour the measured water into a large pot. Put the rice in. Do not turn on the stove until all the rice and water are in the pot.

  • If you want, you can cook rice with broth (like chicken, beef, vegetables, etc.) The broth will help the rice taste more mellow. Most recipes call for one cup of broth for half a cup of rice. [1] X Research Source
Boil water. Reduce the heat, cover the pot, and simmer for 20 to 35 minutes until the water dries up.

Turn off the heat, leave the pot on the stove for 15 minutes. Do not stir the rice.
Use a fork to lightly stir the rice until smooth and then use.

  • Note that although the color of the cooked rice is beautiful, it may stain the ceramic or enamel of the pot. [2] X Research Source

Use sticky rice in cold salads. Glutinous rice is a nutritious alternative to noodles or white rice. If you’re going to make a cold noodle salad for a barbecue party or a sporting event, why not replace pasta with sticky rice?

  • If you’re going to make a cold Asian salad with noodles, why not try it with more nutritious sticky rice? Just make sure the rice is cooked before you add the other ingredients.

Use sticky rice as a filling. Making fillings with glutinous rice is so easy and delicious! Cook until the rice is done and combine with deep fried bread, chopped, herbs, spices, celery as you would a regular filling. Stuff the filling in the belly of a regular turkey or chicken and roast as usual. Your Thanksgiving guests are sure to want more!
