How to Connect PC to TV Without Wires

This wikiHow teaches you how to connect a Windows PC to a TV without cables. Turn on the TV that supports Chromecast. Select the content you want to transfer (Google Chrome only). If you use Google Chrome, you can view it in several ways:

Click on the smart TV in the list. Once you select, the currently open application, streaming content, file or web page will be transferred to the Smart TV.

Stop showing on TV. After watching, you can disconnect your PC from the TV.

Turn on the TV that supports Miracast. If your TV has Miracast (or you’re using a Miracast-supported streaming device like the Roku and many Amazon Fire TVs), you can connect to the TV using a PC with Miracast built in. You need to make sure that your PC supports Miracast. Miracast is available on most Windows 8 and 10 laptops and computers. To determine if a computer has Miracast, do:

Connect the PC to the same Wi-Fi network of the TV. The TV and PC must be connected to the same network to use Miracast.

Click the TV or streaming device in the list. Depending on the settings, a code may appear on the TV, you need to enter this code into the computer to pair. Once the pairing process is complete, the wireless connection will be established without any problems.

Stop streaming through the TV. After watching, you can disconnect your PC and TV by:

Click the Notification panel with the square chat bubble icon located to the right of the clock, usually in the lower right corner of the screen. If there is an active notification, a small number will be displayed on the icon.
Click the Disconnect option next to the name of the TV or streaming device.

Advice

Wireless connection to the TV screen is often not very stable. If you have problems connecting, try using an HDMI cable.
If your TV is not a Smart TV, check if it has a USB port and supports Wi-Fi. If so, you can purchase a Chromecast or Roku streaming device to use with your computer.
You can buy a wireless display adapter to fully use your computer on the big screen.
If your TV or streaming device doesn’t appear in the list when you connect to project your screen, check to make sure your PC and TV are using the same Wi-Fi network and mirroring/casting options enabled in the settings of the TV as well as the streaming device.
