Open Device Manager. Type device manager into Start, then click Device Manager above the search results.

Look for the heading “Display adapters”. Scroll down until you find this title in the Device Manager window.

Open Terminal. Click on the Terminal application with the black box icon, or press Alt + Ctrl + T at the same time to open a new Terminal window.

Update your computer’s list of PCI components. You need to type the following command into Terminal, then press ↵ Enter .

 sudo update-pciids

Find your computer’s list of PCI components. You need to type the following command and press ↵ Enter to open the list of installed and built-in PCI components (including graphics cards):

Find the graphics card. Drag the scroll bar of the Terminal window upwards until you find the title “Video controller”, “VGA compatible”, “3D” or “Integrated graphics; the name of the graphics card appears next to this title.

Make a note of the graphics card’s ID number. This is the number displayed to the left of the graphics card’s title, and is usually in the format: 00:00.0
