This wikiHow teaches you how to check if your Android phone has been rooted (advanced access jailbreak). With a rooted Android device, you will be free to install tweaks and access system files. The most commonly used way to check the root status of an Android device is to download the Root Checker application (free), you can also use a Terminal emulator to check if your Android device runs an older operating system (between Android 1.5 and Android 4.0).
