Open Android Settings. Swipe down from the top of the screen, then tap “Settings” (“Settings”)

On some Android devices, you’ll need to use two fingers to pull this menu down.

Scroll down and tap System ( System ). This option is near the bottom of the Settings page.

On Samsung Galaxy, you will scroll down to tap General management (‘ General management )’.

Press Date & time ( Date & time ). This button is located near the top of the System page.

You’ll tap Date and Time on your Samsung Galaxy.

Tap the blue “Automatic date and time” toggle. This will disable the automatic time setting, allowing you to manually adjust the date, time, and time zone.

If this toggle is grayed out, automatic time setting has been disabled.
If you want to enable automatic time setting to ensure that your Android device always displays the correct date and time, tap the gray “Auto Time” toggle.

Tap Set date ( Set date ). This button is located in the middle of the Date and Time page. This will open a calendar.

Choose a date. Select the date that you want to set up for your Android device, then tap it and press SAVE .

On a Samsung Galaxy, you’ll tap DONE ( DONE ) instead of SAVE .

Click Set time ( Set time ). This button is located below the Date Settings option on the page.

Choose a time. Adjust the clock to the time you want (whether the current time is am (AM) or pm (PM) if you are not using the 24-hour time format), then press SAVE .

Similarly, on a Samsung Galaxy, you would press DONE ( DONE ).

Select the time zone if necessary. If you want to select a time zone other than the current time zone, or if the current time zone is incorrect, press Select time zone and then select the time zone you want to use for your date and time.

Selecting a new time zone may overwrite the date and time you previously set
If automatic date and time setting is enabled, selecting a new time zone will automatically update your date and time.

Allows 24 hour time format. If you want the time to display in 24-hour format (for example, “15:00” instead of 3:00 PM, “09:00” instead of 9:00 AM, etc.), you can enable this setting by clicking the gray toggle switch to the right of the “Use 24-hour format” section.

If the 24-hour time format is already enabled and you want to disable it, tap the blue toggle to the right of “Use 24-hour format”.

Advice

If you’re using a Pixel Android phone, you can set the time from within the Clock app by opening the Clock app, pressing ⋮ , and tapping Settings in the drop-down menu.

Warning

Changing the time back by more than a few days can sometimes cause updates and apps to stop working.
