Refrigerate the ingredients. If you’re using butter in your cookie recipe (or even if you don’t), it’s still a good idea to keep the butter and other ingredients cold. This will make the cookies firmer and won’t melt in the oven.

Bake cookies

Use an ice cream spoon to create even cookies. If you want to make sure that each cookie looks the same after you’re done, use an ice cream spoon to scoop out each round of dough evenly.
Use wax paper. Replace the non-stick baking sheet with parchment paper. Non-stick baking mats cause the cake to not bake evenly and cause the base to not have a perfect crunch. Stencils will help you create better quality cakes.
Bake the cake on the underside of the baking tray. If you notice that the cakes near the edge of the baking tray are often overbaked, you should use a round or oval baking tray.
