{“smallUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images_en/thumb/8/83/Add-a-Hyperlink-in-Illustrator-Step-1-Version-5.jpg/v4-728px-Add- a-Hyperlink-in-Illustrator-Step-1-Version-5.jpg”,”bigUrl”:”https://www.wikihow.com/images/thumb/8/83/Add-a-Hyperlink-in- Illustrator-Step-1-Version-5.jpg/v4-728px-Add-a-Hyperlink-in-Illustrator-Step-1-Version-5.jpg”,”smallWidth”:460,”smallHeight”:345,” bigWidth”:728,”bigHeight”:546,”licensing”:”<div class=”mw-parser-output”></div>”}
Open Illustrator. Double-click the yellow app icon that says ” Ai “, click File in the top menu bar, and do one of the following:

  • Click Open… and select the document to open the existing file.
  • Click New… (New) to create a new document.

Note: If you add a hyperlink to Illustrator and hide above the content that you want to use as the “button” of the hyperlink, this object will not be clickable after we export the Illustrator file to PDF. You can use Illustrator to lay out the text or images to be used as a clickable object of the hyperlink before creating the actual link in Acrobat or InDesign.

  • Click on the text where you will insert the hyperlink.
  • Click the Type option in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  • Click the Create Outlines option in the middle of the menu.
  • Click the Object option in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  • Click the Group option near the top of the menu.
