This wikiHow teaches you how to add emojis (also called emojis) to a Twitter message or post. On a computer, you can do so using Twitter’s built-in emojis, or with your smartphone’s emoji keyboard with the Twitter app open on your Android, iPhone, or iPad.
Steps
On mobile app
- If you want to respond to a tweet, tap the dialogue bubble icon located below the tweet.
- To add emojis to a direct message, create or open the message, then tap the input area to bring up the keyboard.
- iPhone/iPad : Tap the globe or smiley face key to the left of the spacebar at the bottom of the keyboard. You may need to press this key repeatedly to open the emoji keyboard if multiple languages are installed.
- Android : Tap the smiley key on the keyboard. If you can’t find it, try long-pressing the spacebar, Enter, or one of the arrow keys, and then tapping the smiley icon. If this doesn’t work, try pressing the symbol or number key because the smiley key is usually hidden there.
- If you’re replying to a tweet, tap Reply above your reply.
- If you’re replying to a direct message, you’ll need to tap the send button (paper airplane icon) to the right of the input area.
- Tap your profile picture in the upper left corner of the screen and select Profile .
- Click Edit profile in the upper right corner of the screen.
- To insert an emoji in the name field, you need to tap the field, tap the emoji key on your keyboard, and then insert the desired symbol.
- To insert an emoji in your profile, tap where you want the icon to appear in your profile, press the emoji key, and then select the emoji.
