Open Instagram. The app has a camera icon in a square that changes color from yellow to purple. You can usually find it by opening the home screen, app drawer, or typing the app name in the search bar.

Swipe from left to right to open the Story camera. You can also tap the camera icon in the upper-left corner of the screen.

Tap the circle button to take a new photo for the Story. You can also hold down this button to record a video, select a photo/video from the gallery, create a video with special effects at the bottom of the camera screen like Boomerang or Rewind .

  • You can tap the two arrows icon to switch between the front and rear cameras.
  • You can also add effects to photos and videos by tapping the face icon.

Click on the letter Aa icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

Dates. You can enter either full (for example, “November 19, 2019” or “November 19, 2019”) or concise (such as “11/19/19”).

  • Once you’re done typing, you can change the font size by dragging the slider on the left side of the screen up or down. You can tap the color above the keyboard to change the font color, and tap “Classic”, “Modern”, “Neon”, “Typewriter” or “Strong” if you want to change the font style.
  • Once satisfied, tap the Done button in the upper-right corner of the screen.

    • You can add the current time by tapping the label with a flipchart icon representing the real time. Once the label is added to your story, you can tap the hour that appears to switch between clock views.
